Antonia was the sister of Frantisek Zouzalik who settled in Flatonia. There was also a Barbora Zouzalik who married Josef Tomek and immigrated to the U.S. before Antonia and Frantisek. Barbora was the sister of Antonia and Frantisek’s mother, Maria. Their father was Josef Zouzalik and their mother was Katherina Landa. Barbora and Josef Tomek were sponsors for Antonia’s immigration to the U.S.

In 1999, my researcher in the Czech Republic visited all the known houses that came up in the Zouzalik records and was able to find some of our relatives.

Bechyne was the seat of our ancestor’s feudal lords. These were men of rank in the ancient regime that held general authority over others and were entitled to allegiance and service.
